After deciding that we are here to stay...after expanding our family one more time...after leaving our Melbourne lives behind us...
This has become my little diary and thought outlet, so stay posted!
Lets see what happens!
Lately Jem and i have been noticing, not necessarily the changers, but the character observations of the kids since we have been here at Barwon Heads.
Banjo's confidence, in a social sense, has really increased. He has become quite known around the traps and feels confident to meet new people on his own now, without me having to make the initial introduction. He has a best buddy and lots of friends of all ages and sex.
The freedom to ride his bike in middle of the road and know his way around town, surf the local waves and skate at the skate park with regular faces has shown to be a really positive experience for him.
Hero is happy, but there is a spark that is missing in her that i remember seeing every single time i took her to school in Brunswick. Her incredible social luminance has dulled a little here and we are hoping that it is transitional. Jem said once Hero could make friends in a black cave. Which is so true. Doesn't matter what age they are Hero will befriend them and find out all about them.
I didn't post a photo of Hero on her first day of her new school because i thought when i went to pick her up at the end of the day i would get a photo of her with all her new friends, but it wasn't quite like that in reality.
I can't help but wonder if we didn't have the comparison, would i have perceived this observation?
This weeks new post is dedicated to 2 of the most stylish and talented people i know.
My dear friend Lizzy and her amazing fiance Steve have entered a very exciting new business enterprise. It is called Tale. They have very courageously imported beautiful unique piece of furniture from all over the world for us to buy!
The Pop-Up-Shop opened this weekend and it looks amazing! Lizzy has done the most incredible job of pulling all these individual piece's together to create a stunning space to visit. Definitely worth a visit.
The next is my mother!
She made Banjo the most amazing jacket and matching cap last week, which has been a big hit with the little style guru himself.
It is easy to take for granted that when your Mum makes an item of clothing it is always made from the most incredible fabrics, finished like Valentino's head seamstress, Antonietta de Angelis, and styled like Grace Coddington!
I have been incredibly spoilt, and now it;' my kids turn.
We have just come back from Byron Bay.
We try to go most years but with Iggy being due in early Feb last year and the move to Barwon Heads this year we haven't been for a while.
We stay at the same place each time called the Happy Shack, which is a bit more then a shack but not a luxury villa either! We have fun there and it works well for our family. It has an amazing veranda with french doors off the kitchen, living and bedroom. The veranda has not 1 but 2 large couches for chilling out and reading (when possible!) It is in a great spot out of the main drag but close enough to it to ride your bike collect some fish & chips for dinner.
Visiting Byron this time felt quite different, and that was because we are now living by the beach. It was different when we were based in Brunswick. We found Byron a bit manic compared to our sleepy Barwon Heads, and beaches are quite comparable too. But what you can't compare is the water! It was divine! The most perfect temperature, the most perfect colour and clarity. I could have stayed in the sea all day if it was possible, and Hero and Banjo almost did!
My amazing husband brought this print for my birthday a few years ago from my extremely talented friend Georgia.
It has been sitting in storage for to long, but now it's out!
At the end of last year, when i knew i would have space for this beautiful piece, i asked Georg if she would help get it framed for me. And i am so glad i did!
She brought sex into framing (who ever thought it was possible!). Thank-you so much Georg, you all have to come and see it in person to get the full seductiveness of it.
Or you could just go and buy one for yourself!

The other day i went into Iggy's room after his sleep to find him like this!
He has always had an infatuation with the Sudo nappy cream, so you can imagine his delight when he awoke and found it in his cot where Mummy left it by accident!
Some dear friends came and stayed a short while ago, our kids have known each other since birth and as you can see are very comfortable together. It was late in the evening and they were settling in to watch some movie. I don't think either of them were aware of how close they were, they just new they like to snuggle.
It is this image that captures innocent love and affection, and the beautiful feeling of being oneself around the people we love. I like to think this is what Jem and I will be doing when we are 90!
